Tombstone!The most famous Western town in the world!! I moved back here last year, and live on Allen Street. Tombstone is actually defined by a single event. The Gunfight at the OK Corral. It happened on Oct. 26, 1881 and is still argued about (Who was right? Who was wrong?) and re-enacted every day. Here is a page on that, called "The Main Event." My first impressions of Tombstone are here in my Arizona Chronicles. Those impressions are the nucleus of this website. Most recently, the Marshal arrested the actors who "walk down" Allen Street to the Corral every day. Here is Stephen Colbert's amusing interview with my friend Stephen Keith, who plays Doc Holliday in the reenactment. "Burt Bushybeard" is my friend Burt Webster, guitar player and singer. The Tombstone Chamber of Commerce has a website here, with a lot of great pictures. (A lot of my friends, too, what's left of them.)
