Texas... should qualify as a western state but it's gotten so rich and cosmopolitan that the locals don't seem very western any more. There's still lots of room, but there are lots of city folks. (DFW and Houston are among the top ten cities) Try driving from downtown Houston to Katy in the afternoon rush and you'll understand my feelings for Texas. (Look here.) OTOH, el vale is a spot dear to my heart, as I testify here. . |
