of the chuckwagon from the 1800's to no. Many recipes for Dutch Oven...
some of the recipes call for an oven -- bake for an hour at 350. . (WHAT
OVEN? A solar oven, of course!!) Cowboy Cooking: This excellent book has hundreds of good recipes, interspersed with stories of trail rides by the CAA. The CAA had members and friends that arranged for trail rides on many of the famous ranches throughout the west. Since I have never been on a group trail ride like that, this was fascinating. Full of good recipes and great pictures of outdoor cooking. A nice coffee-table book... if your
coffee-table's in the kitchen. 
This is a fascinating book! Full of pictures of our old
cowboy heroes, their favorite recipes, and quotes from the best western
movies. 
These recipes are collected from western bead and breakfasts,
mostly in Colorado. If you're in that situation, it's a good book. I
didn't find too much to feed a bunch of hungry men!
This is a WONDERFUL book, if you're trying to learn about Dutch Ovens. My
only problem is, I'm not cooking outside, so putting coals on top of the pot
doesn't work for me. Never-the-less, this book makes you feel like an
expert.
