Boondockers

The Marines call their high-topped shoes by this name.  At the University of Arizona, a boondocker is a party out in the desert, or up in the mountans.  (Back East, they call them "Woodsies.")

In  advance, here's a reference.  I was talking to my friend "Banjo Bill" Harloff, and he showed me the first edition of this book.  The Erotic Muse: AMERICAN BAWDY SONGS (Music in American Life)  I now have the second edition and it contains just about all of the songs we used to sing at our boondockers in the 50's.
