Bad Guys or Good Guys?

The bad guys always wear Black Hats, right?  No... not in 1880, or even 1960.  Look here

Bad guys are very important in western movies and I discuss that here.

I have developed a scale to rate Characters from bad to good.

The RIXWEST Badness-Goodness Scale

The scale goes from 0 (very bad) to 10 (very good)  

Satan is off the scale to the left. Jesus Christ is off the scale to the right.  

In between are a lot of ordinary folks. And we can put them on the scale now... altho God will have a different process later!

Wyatt Earp.  Here in Tombstone, there's a constant debate about Wyatt.  Was he a good guy or a scoundrel?   The movie Tombstone puts him on the scale at about an 8.  There have been some books that would rate him a 3 or 4 (at best.)

Doc Holliday.  Many movies make Doc out to be a pretty mean drunk.  But he was loyal to his friend Wyatt.  Where does that put him on the scale?

Over the next few weeks I will be asking the local experts to rate these guys, and books and movies about them, on my scale.   Stay tuned for the latest developments.
